Subversion ignore

Another command I often forget the exact syntax is the subversion ignore command. You can also use the global ignore file in your subversion settings, which I recommend for system files, back-ups, etc. The great thing about this method is that it gets committed to the repo so it will be in affect for other users. It’s great for cache directories or environment-specific settings files.

svn propedit svn:ignore ./some_path

Will ignore files or directories. Set path in command and then enter pattern in editor – “*” wildcard allowed. Checks rule into repo. Need to set editor in svn config.
